I am looking to sell my X5D since I am downscaling and moving. I’ve owned this vehicle for two years and it’s been my daily driver, also bringing me across the country from Vermont to California last summer. It has been adult owned, enthusiast modified and maintained. This has been my second X5D, and also my second time bringing one to stage 2. There is really no comparison when it comes to the balance of power/tow capacity, fuel economy, and reliable longevity in an SUV. The N57 motor has won numerous awards for this.
To bring it to this level I’ve replaced the turbocharger with a new factory unit, replaced the EGR cooler with a new factory unit, replaced the mid pipe with a high flow catalytic converter mid pipe, deleted the DPF filter which is prone to failure, and replaced it with a high flow downpipe. I then flash tuned the ECU with DUDMD tuning out of Auburn, WA. I used them with my last one which was the E70 platform. If you’re not familiar with these modifications there is plenty of info online about it. The car is not loud since I optioned to keep the catalytic converter, though I cannot say if it would pass California emissions testing.
I have 11,000 in receipts I can show from the past year, which doesn’t include the price of parts like the new turbocharger. Additionally I put on brand new BFG all terrain tires last year, and had a tow hitch professionally installed and wired. I’ve only towed a small uhaul trailer with it once.
This is a great rig that’s priced accordingly for someone who knows what it is. I’m not looking to profit off of the sale, just get it to the right next owner who will enjoy it like I did.
