Houston families are invited to a major Back to School Drive featuring free backpacks, school supplies, food pantry support, health services, community resources, and family-friendly activities.

Scheduled for Saturday, July 25, 2026, at PlazAmericas Mall in Houston, this free community event is designed to help students and families prepare for the new school year. The initiative has supported Southwest Houston families for nearly two decades and continues to bring together volunteers, businesses, community organizations, and local partners.

Families attending the event can receive free backpacks for students while also accessing food pantry resources, health fair services and screenings, a business and community expo, school-readiness information, and other family support services. Children can also enjoy jumpy houses and additional family-friendly activities.

The event is free to attend, and families are encouraged to register in advance to help organizers prepare sufficient backpacks, supplies, food resources, and services.
