Selling my 1978 Mercedes-Benz 280CE—a beautiful, well-kept classic that I’ve owned for the past 2.5 years. It’s been my weekend car, used occasionally but always looked after. If you're into vintage Mercedes or just appreciate a solid, stylish ride with character, this one’s worth a look.
This is the W123 coupe, known for its build quality and understated elegance. The 280CE came with the fuel-injected inline-six (M110), and this one runs incredibly well. Starts up easily, pulls smoothly, and has that satisfying mechanical feel that newer cars just don’t offer.
Mechanical Condition:
Over the past few years, I’ve installed major upgrades and maintenance parts:
New transmission
New suspension
New brakes and brake lines
New fuel system components
New oil pump + fresh oil change
Engine timing performed + new timing belt
The engine is in excellent shape, and everything important has already been sorted. It’s not a project—it’s ready to be enjoyed today.
Exterior/Interior:
The paint overall looks great for its age and still has a nice shine. The only real flaw is a scratch on the front left fender—nothing structural and no rust, just cosmetic. Chrome trim is clean, glass is good, and the coupe profile is as sharp as ever. Interior is classic MB-Tex and has held up well—no tears or major wear.
Comes with two sets of keys and a clean title. It’s registered and ready to drive home.
This car is a joy to drive. Everything requires minimal effort, and it feels like you can drive the car telepathically. I'm only selling it because I could use the funds for an engagement ring. Otherwise, I wouldn’t let it go.
Asking $12,500 OBO. Reasonable offers will be considered, especially if you're a fellow classic car enthusiast. No trades, no lowballers.
Feel free to reach out if you’d like to come see it or have any questions. Thanks for looking!
