Super Bowl Weekend Storm: Heavy Snow & Ice to Disrupt NYC Travel
New Yorkers are being urged to delay all travel as a powerful winter storm brings a dangerous mix of snow, sleet, and ice to the region overnight. The National Weather Service (NWS) has placed millions across the Northeast under winter storm warnings and advisories, with hazardous conditions expected through Sunday morning.

What to Expect:
Snow & Ice Accumulation: NYC and surrounding areas could see 5 to 8 inches of snow, with up to 0.1 inch of ice, making roads dangerously slick.
Timing: Heavy snowfall will continue through Saturday night, turning into a wintry mix by midnight. Snow is expected to taper off by early Sunday afternoon.
Travel Risks: Icy conditions, poor visibility, and slippery roads—especially on bridges and overpasses—will make driving extremely hazardous.
Stay Safe & Plan Ahead
The NWS strongly advises delaying all travel if possible. If you must head out, drive with extreme caution and be prepared for rapidly changing conditions.

City Preparations & Forecast
Alternate-side parking rules are suspended for snow removal.
Sunday temperatures will climb back to around 40°F, but lows will dip into the 20s, keeping roads icy.
As Super Bowl celebrations approach, safety should be a top priority. Stay tuned for updates and avoid unnecessary travel during this dangerous winter storm.
