The most awaited film of the season, Sir, is all set for a grand release on February 17, 2023. The trailer of the film has a blockbuster written all over it. As the film revolves around educational reforms, the stellar cast of Dhanush, Samyuktha, Samuthirakani, Hyper Aadhi, and others make it a perfect entertainer. Venky Atluri helmed this bi-lingual project and it’s bankrolled by Naga Vamsi S. and Sai Soujanya under Sithara Entertainments in association with Fortune Four Cinemas. Srikara Studios is presenting this movie. The pre-release event of Sir was organised today at Hyderabad. The cast and crew attended the event, and Triviram and S Thaman graced the occasion as special guests.

DOP Yuvraj said, “I am proud to work for a Dhanush film. We wished the director doesn’t say cut while shooting with Dhanush so we can watch him perform more. That’s the magical effect of him”. Then he thanked the entire team for giving their best for Sir.

Ramajogaiah Sastry said, “Sir’s movie plot with education is a brave attempt, and it has good commercial values and backed by a star and a good production house. Also, making the film in two languages is a valiant attempt. Venky is Mr. Cool and interacts with me in a friendly way. I am glad that ‘Mastaaru’ song became viral. I wrote another song called ‘Maarajayya’ that comes in the climax. These songs got fine tunes from G V Prakash. Pranav Chaganty also gave two songs”. He remarked that Dhanush is a Sabyasachi – poet, singer, actor, and more, and he is happy to work with him. It’s interesting that Dhanush penned the lyrics for Maastaru song in Tamil. That shows his versatility.

Pranav Chaganty said, “I wrote ‘One life’, ‘Sandhyalo udayiddaam’ in the movie. Thanks Venky Atluri for having me and I thank the entire team of Sir”.

Saikumar opened his speech with Gurubhyo Namahaa and praised Ramajogaiah Sastry for wonderful lyrics. He said, “This is my 50th year as an actor. The people who are instrumental for my success are my parents and my mentors. Check out my character and the story of Sir on February 17 in cinemas”. He rendered a few lines from the movie and is excited to see Dhanush in Bharatiar getup. He praised Yuvraj for beautiful visuals and Venky for all the cool quotient he got on sets. Saikumar closed his speech by saying, “Let’s celebrate Sir in theatres. Don’t miss it”.

Hyper Aadhi said, “Watching Sir is like eating a wholesome meal on banana leaf with different curries, rice, and ghee. Venky Atluri became lucky by working with Dhanush and he made us lucky too”. Then he spoke about how Trivikram on being his inspiration.

Samuthirakani flashed on the stage and thanked Venky Atluri for making a responsible movie. He thanked Dhanush for showing him a new path that gave a direction to his acting career.

Thaman came to the event as a special guest and praised G V Prakash for pouring life into the Sir with great music. He said, “After the release of Sir, everyone will call Venky Atluri as Sir. Sithara Entertainment has a knack for doing good films. Dhanush’s passion for films always makes him run and win. People will remember Feb 17 as the release date of Sir”.

Producer S Naga Vamsi said we are very confident about the film so are having paid premiers one day before and all the shows are sold out. This speaks volumes about the positive vibe of the film.

Venky Atluri heaped praises on the crew members and said the film will have a good talk. It won’t stay for just one weekend but for four weekends in AP/Telangana and eight weeks in Tamil Nadu. He thanked all his teachers and called Trivikram his greatest inspiration for writing and making films. He shared a story shared by Dhanush and related it to the latter’s performance. In his words, “When I asked Dhanush about nadaswaram, he told that Ilaiyaraaja calls it the dominating instrument among others. Similarly, when Dhanush is acting before camera he is like a nadaswaram”.

Samyuktha said a film’s success is a collective effort. She said, “Thanks to everyone for giving me successful movies. Maastaru is my favorite song in the film and will stay with me forever. It’s a delight to watch Dhanush’s performance and I am lucky to act with him”.

Trivikram started in his archetypal style with a Kabir doha that gives more importance to guru (teacher). Then he saluted all the teachers. He said, “I watched Sir and liked the film because of its soul. Education and health are basic amenities, and only education can change the lifestyle of a human being. Venky’s film prods an important question as why someone has to be devoid of education because of lack of money? Sir will travel with us for a long time. Dhanush is like a karma yogi who enjoys his work and moves ahead with his best efforts. Sir will be a grand welcome to Dhanush into Telugu films”. He closed his speech with the phrase, “Welcome Sir”.

Dhanush came to the stage in his grand style and said, “When my first film was released in 2002, I was nervous and now in 2023 for my first Telugu film release, I am more nervous. Every film feels like my first film. Sir has simple acting, simple story but a grand message. We have done a meaningful film and it connects with all, as this film is your story”. He thanked everyone for their contribution to the film. It’s interesting to see Trivikram translating Dhanush's Tamil and English lines into Telugu for the benefit of audience. The surprise factor at the end was Dhanush's rendition of 'Maastaru' song.
