Kalki Run-time: Biggest Challenge for Nag Ashwin

Director Nag Ashwin took a good 5 years after blockbuster Mahanati to materialize his next project. His upcoming film, Kalki is set for its theatrical debut on the 27th of this month and the stakes are very high on this one.

Coming to the topic, there are new reports that Kalki has an elongated run time of 3 hours which is slightly on the higher side for a commercial potboiler.

Being a new-age sci-fi thriller, Kalki does need some time to establish the world and take the audience into the imaginative rollercoaster. But at the same time, there is the risk of overdoing the run-time part.

If the audience don't get accustomed to the elongated run time and don't quite connect with the world of Kalki, then the extra run time can act as a bane for the film and this is not what is needed for a 500 crore budget film like Kalki.

Either way, Kalki is set for its theatrical debut on the 27th of this month and it is already seeing good bookings in the USA as the advance sales are touching the $2M mark.
