As Thalapathy Vijay's highly anticipated film "GOAT" gears up for its worldwide release on September 5, rumors have been swirling on social media about a potential cameo appearance by cricket icon MS Dhoni. Known for his immense popularity in Tamil Nadu, Dhoni, who represents the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has been a topic of speculation due to a shot in the film’s trailer featuring Vijay at a cricket stadium.
In response to the growing buzz, director Venkat Prabhu has addressed the rumors, confirming that MS Dhoni will not be making a cameo appearance in "GOAT." Prabhu acknowledged that while there were initial plans to include Dhoni in the film, these did not materialize. However, the film does feature a cricket match between CSK and the Mumbai Indians, and this sequence includes images of prominent cricketers from both teams.
Fans of both Vijay and Dhoni can look forward to "GOAT" for its cinematic and cricket elements, even if Dhoni’s much-anticipated cameo didn’t make the final cut. The movie, set to release soon, promises a thrilling experience with its cricket-themed storyline and star power.
