Sequel to Cult Classic '96 Announced by Director Prem Kumar: Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha to Return

The much-adored film 96 has left an indelible mark on audiences, establishing itself as a cult classic. Featuring standout performances by Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha, the film is celebrated for its heartfelt narrative and natural portrayals. Now, director Prem Kumar has exciting news for fans: a sequel to 96 is officially in the works.

Prem Kumar revealed that the idea for a sequel was inspired by the overwhelming positive response to the original film. He has almost completed the script for the follow-up and is eager to present it to Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha. The project will move forward once both actors are available and on board.

The original 96 was noted for its unique storytelling and emotional depth, leaving fans curious about whether the sequel will capture the same magic. Prem Kumar, who also directed the Telugu remake of 96 starring Sharwanand and Samantha, is set to continue his creative journey with this new installment.

Additionally, Prem Kumar’s upcoming film Meiyazhagan, starring Karthi, is scheduled for release on September 27th. Fans of the director and Karthi will have another reason to look forward to the end of September.
