Chiranjeevi to Receive ANR National Award at Grand Centenary Celebration

The Akkineni International Foundation has officially announced the recipient of this year’s ANR National Award, honoring the legendary Akkineni Nageswara Rao. During the centenary celebrations of ANR, his family revealed that the esteemed award will be presented to none other than Megastar Chiranjeevi.

Nagarjuna Akkineni shared the news with the media, stating, “We have decided to give the award to Chiranjeevi garu. When I revealed this to him, he felt so happy and emotional. He thanked us for considering him, especially during this significant centenary year.” This announcement highlights the deep respect and camaraderie within the Telugu film industry.

To commemorate this honor, the Akkineni family is organizing a grand function on the 28th of this month to felicitate Chiranjeevi. The event will be made even more special with the presence of Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan, who will hand over the award to Chiranjeevi, adding star power to the occasion.

In addition to the award, the Akkineni family has taken steps to celebrate ANR's legacy by remastering some of his classic films and releasing them in theaters for audiences to enjoy free of charge. This initiative not only honors ANR’s contributions to Indian cinema but also allows a new generation to appreciate his work.
