Star choreographer Jani Master has been granted conditional bail by the Telangana High Court following his arrest in connection with a sexual assault case. After multiple unsuccessful attempts to secure bail from the Rangareddy district court, Jani Master submitted a petition to the High Court, which reviewed his case and granted him bail today.
Jani Master was arrested last month in Goa after a 21-year-old female choreographer accused him of sexual assault, claiming the abuse had been ongoing since she was a minor. This led to charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and he was subsequently placed in remand at Chanchalguda Jail in Hyderabad.
Earlier this month, Jani Master sought interim bail to attend the National Award ceremony for his work in the 2022 film Thiruchitrambalam. However, his request was denied after the National Award Jury decided to suspend his award due to the serious nature of the allegations against him.
Since the beginning of the case, Jani Master, along with his wife and close associates, has consistently denied the allegations, maintaining his innocence.
