Sunkara Krishna Prasad Choudhary, widely known as KP Choudhary, a prominent film producer, was found dead in Goa on Monday, in what appears to be a suicide. Choudhary gained attention for acquiring the distribution rights for the Tamil film Kabali and for releasing its Telugu version. His lavish investment in the film stirred up a sensation in the film industry at the time. However, his life took a dark turn when he was arrested in 2023 by the Cyberabad Special Operations Team for his involvement in a drugs case. Officials revealed that Choudhary had supplied drugs to several high-profile figures in Tollywood and Kollywood and even had connections within the business circles.

Reports suggest that Choudhary had been facing severe financial struggles, exacerbated by mounting pressure from money lenders. In an attempt to recover from setbacks in his personal and professional life, he opened the OHM pub in Goa, where he was allegedly involved in distributing drugs to celebrities. While the cause of his suicide remains unclear, police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
