Sony LIV’s Latest Hindi Movie KanKhajura Trailer Out, Premieres May 30
After back-to-back successes with Black White & Grey: Love Kills and The Waking of the Nation, Sony LIV continues its winning streak with the release of its next gripping original, KanKhajura. This psychological thriller, starring Roshan Mathew, Mohit Raina, and Sarah Jane Dias, is set to premiere globally on May 30, 2025.
Adapted from the critically acclaimed Israeli series Magpie, KanKhajura delves into the murky depths of guilt, trauma, and buried family secrets. The trailer offers an intense and haunting preview of what lies ahead in the eight-episode series.
KanKhajura centers around two estranged brothers Max (played by Mohit Raina), a respected yet tormented man, and Ashu (Roshan Mathew), whose return forces both to confront their twisted shared past. As the story unfolds, viewers are taken on a psychological rollercoaster where the line between memory and reality begins to blur.
The series explores themes of trauma, revenge, and redemption, infused with an atmospheric tone and emotionally charged storytelling. True to Sony LIV’s reputation for high-quality narratives, KanKhajura offers a cinematic experience tailor-made for fans of suspense-driven drama.
Actress Sarah Jane Dias, who plays Nisha, shared her thoughts on the emotionally complex character: “There’s something deeply unsettling about KanKhajura not just the story, but what it forces you to confront: guilt, family, and memory. Nisha is trying to hold it all together while everythinginside her is falling apart.”
The series boasts a stellar supporting cast, including Mahesh Shetty, Ninad Kamat, Trinetra Haldar, Heeba Shah, and veteran actress Usha Nadkarni. Directed by award-winning filmmaker Chandan Arora, KanKhajura is produced by Ajay Rai under Donna and Shula Productions in association with yes Studios. The original creators of Magpie Adam Bizanski, Omri Shenhar, and Dana Eden have been credited in this licensed adaptation.
Unlike typical thrillers, KanKhajura promises a deeply psychological experience, where the horror is internal and personal. The series is expected to resonate with fans of shows like Delhi Crime, Tabbar, and Asur, thanks to its raw emotional undercurrent and gripping performances.
