AM Rathnam Seeks Ticket Hike for Hari Hara Veera Mallu
Veteran film producer AM Rathnam met Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on May 30 to request a special ticket price hike and additional shows for the much-anticipated historical epic Hari Hara Veera Mallu, starring Pawan Kalyan. The film, set against the backdrop of 17th-century India, stands out as a visually rich and culturally immersive production. Unlike typical commercial entertainers, this big-budget period drama demands higher financial support to recover its grand-scale investment.
Rathnam emphasized the film’s scale, genre, and the extensive efforts behind its production while making his case for flexible pricing. Sources reveal that the Chief Minister responded positively, with the government considering exceptions under new guidelines especially for culturally significant and socially impactful films. This is particularly notable given Telangana’s cautious stance on ticket pricing following the Pushpa 2 premiere situation.
Simultaneously, the production team has initiated talks with officials in Andhra Pradesh through the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce. A formal request for ticket rate revision has been submitted, and discussions are progressing with the goal of securing supportive terms for the movie's release. If approved in both Telugu states, Hari Hara Veera Mallu could emerge as one of the few big films to benefit from a revised theatrical policy, ensuring a stronger box office performance for this long-awaited cinematic spectacle.
