Rajendra Prasad's Stage Behavior Sparks Fresh Backlash

Rajendra Prasad's Stage Behavior Sparks Fresh Backlash

Veteran Telugu actor Rajendra Prasad has once again found himself in the center of controversy following inappropriate and abusive remarks made during a public appearance. At the recent birthday celebrations of filmmaker SV Krishna Reddy, Rajendra Prasad used offensive language against comedian Ali, sparking immediate backlash both at the venue and on social media.

This is not an isolated incident. Just recently, Prasad caused a stir during the promotions of Nithiin’s film Robin Hood by making an ill-mannered remark about cricketer David Warner, for which he was forced to issue a public apology. Despite that, it appears the actor hasn’t changed his ways.

At the SV Krishna Reddy event, Prasad’s tone quickly shifted from humorous to harsh. After teasing producer Achchi Reddy, he used an explicit Telugu slur against Ali. While some on stage laughed awkwardly, many audience members were clearly uncomfortable. He then lashed out at the audience for not applauding his mention of receiving the NTR Award, questioning their intelligence and accusing them of lacking respect.

Observers point out that Rajendra Prasad, who once commanded widespread respect, is slowly losing public goodwill due to his impulsive behavior and disregard for public decency. Critics argue that veteran actors should lead by example and uphold professionalism, especially when they enjoy senior status in the industry.

The backlash has been fierce, with many netizens expressing disappointment and demanding accountability. A growing sentiment is that an apology at this stage may not be enough, especially given his repeated offenses.

Prasad has also drawn criticism in the past for indirectly targeting Allu Arjun’s Pushpa role while commenting on the current portrayal of heroes in Telugu cinema. Unless industry veterans or peers intervene and counsel Rajendra Prasad on public decorum, he risks becoming a figure known more for controversy than contribution to Indian cinema.
