Badshah’s Dua Lipa Comment Sparks Backlash

Indian rapper Badshah has found himself at the center of controversy after making an eyebrow-raising comment about international pop star Dua Lipa. It began when Badshah tweeted her name with a red heart emoji on June 6, sparking speculation of a possible musical collaboration. However, things took a turn when the rapper responded to a fan's comment saying, "I’d rather make babies with her bro."

The statement quickly triggered outrage across social media, with many calling it objectifying, disrespectful, and unprofessional, especially coming from a public figure. Critics argue that such remarks, even when meant in jest or as a “compliment,” reflect poorly on how women in the entertainment industry are perceived.

In response to the backlash, Badshah defended himself by tweeting: “I think one of the most beautiful compliments you could give a woman you admire is to wish for her to mother your children.” He further added, “Meri soch nahi, tumhari soch saamne aayi hai,” implying that critics were misinterpreting his intent.

Despite his explanation, many netizens remained unconvinced, calling the remark tone-deaf and urging celebrities to be more mindful of their words, especially in the age of social media.

Meanwhile, Badshah, who has been making headlines recently for his dramatic weight loss and rumored relationship with actress Tara Sutaria, is no stranger to the limelight. Known for chartbusters like “Kar Gayi Chull” and “Kala Chashma,” this latest controversy adds yet another chapter to the rapper's eventful public persona.
