Salman Khan’s Divorce Views Spark Online Frenzy

Salman Khan’s Divorce Views Spark Online Frenzy

Salman Khan, Bollywood’s most eligible bachelor, has once again captured headlines this time not for a film or controversy, but for his honest take on modern-day divorces and alimony. Appearing as the first guest on the upcoming season of The Great Indian Kapil Show, which premieres on Netflix on June 21, Salman’s clip from the episode went viral within hours of release.

In the teaser video, Salman discusses how marriage dynamics have shifted over the years, pointing out the reduced patience in modern relationships. Reflecting on the high divorce rate, he joked, “Earlier, people used to sacrifice for each other. There was a tolerance factor. Now, if someone snores or stretches a leg in bed, it leads to divorce.” The crowd burst into laughter, joined by host Kapil Sharma and co-stars Archana Puran Singh and Navjot Singh Sidhu.

What especially grabbed the internet’s attention was Salman’s humorous yet cutting remark about alimony. He added that even small misunderstandings escalate quickly, and after divorce, it's not uncommon for the wife to take half the husband’s wealth. The statement led to a flood of social media discussions, with many agreeing that tolerance in relationships has indeed declined.

While some criticized the generalization, others praised the actor for speaking openly about an issue many avoid. Netizens debated whether his comments were humorous satire or a candid reflection of today’s relationship challenges.

Meanwhile, on the professional front, Salman is preparing for his next film based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between India and China. He will play Colonel B. Santosh Babu under the direction of Apoorva Lakhia. His most recent appearance was in AR Murugadoss’ action thriller Sikandar. Salman’s appearance on Kapil Sharma’s show has not only reignited discussions about relationships and money post-marriage but has also proven yet again that the actor’s words, no matter how casual, always leave a lasting impact.
