Amid rising excitement for the mythological action film Kannappa, a humorous moment off-screen went unexpectedly viral. A behind-the-scenes video from the film’s promotions showed veteran actor Mohan Babu joking about purchasing 7,000 acres of land in New Zealand for his son, Vishnu Manchu. The clip, originally shared by actor Brahmaji, sparked a wave of confusion online, with several fans believing the statement was real.
Brahmaji, who also stars in Kannappa, quickly addressed the growing buzz on social media. Posting on X (formerly Twitter), he clarified, “Guys, come on! That video I posted with Mr. Mohan Babu garu and Vishnu Manchu was pure fun. Just a bunch of us having a good laugh like we always do.” He emphasized that the comment was made in jest, and no such land was bought. “New Zealand doesn’t even allow that kind of land ownership for non-citizens,” he added, urging fans not to misinterpret a casual moment of humor.
With the clarification issued, fans are once again turning their focus to Kannappa, which boasts a stellar cast including Vishnu Manchu, Akshay Kumar as Lord Shiva, Kajal Aggarwal as Parvathi, and Prabhas in a powerful cameo as Rudra. Mohan Babu plays Mahadeva Shastri, while Sarath Kumar, Brahmanandam, and Mohanlal appear in key roles. The film is set for a massive theatrical release on June 27, 2025, and its trailer unveiled on June 14 has already garnered strong reactions for its high production value and mythological grandeur.
