Vijay Deverakonda & Rashmika Mandanna to Lead India Day Parade in NewYork

Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, two of India's most beloved stars, have been named the Grand Marshals for this year’s largest India Day Parade in New York. The parade, scheduled for August 17, 2025, is set to be an iconic celebration of India's Independence, drawing thousands of participants and spectators from around the world. This marks the first time the duo will appear together publicly in several years, adding even more excitement and anticipation to the event.

The announcement came during the launch of the countdown to the 43rd India Day Parade, organized by the Federation of Indian Associations (FIA), which took place in New York. At the event, a video message from both Vijay and Rashmika was played, where they confirmed their participation as Grand Marshals. In his video, Vijay expressed his honor and excitement to lead the parade, stating, “I am looking forward to celebrating this day with all of you and pay tributes to our motherland.”

Rashmika, in her video, greeted fans in multiple languages, also expressing her excitement about being part of this historic event. She said, “Let’s come together to celebrate this festival with pride and pray tribute to our motherland.”

The India Day Parade is one of the most significant celebrations of Indian culture in the United States, and this year’s parade is set to be particularly special with the participation of these two major stars. Their joint appearance follows recent reports of their relationship, which has made headlines in the media. This public appearance will mark a significant moment in their relationship, as the two have generally avoided joint public appearances in the past.

The parade will take place on August 17 along the iconic Madison Avenue, with a series of festivities scheduled to begin on August 15. This year's celebrations are expected to draw large crowds, with people coming together to honor India’s independence and the rich cultural heritage of its people. The FIA event will also include tributes to the victims of recent tragedies, such as the Pahalgam terror attack and the Ahmedabad plane crash.

Vijay and Rashmika’s involvement as Grand Marshals is sure to add to the already electric atmosphere of the India Day celebrations, marking a historic moment in both their careers and the celebration of Indian heritage abroad. The event is expected to be an unforgettable day for the thousands of people who will attend, as it showcases the pride and unity of the Indian community in the USA.
