Mohan Babu Reflects on Friendship with Rajinikanth: Calls Him Bloody Thalaiva

Veteran actor Mohan Babu recently opened up about his deep-rooted friendship with Superstar Rajinikanth, a bond that spans over fifty years. In an emotional reflection on their relationship, Mohan Babu fondly referred to Rajinikanth as “bloody Thalaiva,” a nickname that captures the playful and affectionate nature of their camaraderie.

Mohan Babu, known for his commanding screen presence, shared a touching story of their early days in Madras, when they were both newcomers in the industry. He recalled, "We met when we were nothing," emphasizing that their bond was forged in simplicity, mutual respect, and shared struggles. According to Mohan Babu, the two actors exchange at least 3-4 messages daily, maintaining their close connection despite their busy schedules.

Their friendship, he says, goes beyond just their professional lives, with Rajinikanth always offering wise counsel when needed. One such piece of advice, which left a lasting impression on Mohan Babu, came when Rajinikanth spoke about overcoming anger. “He recently told me, ‘You know how short-tempered I am. I’ve left it. Why are you not leaving it? Reading books isn’t enough, you must follow them and leave anger,’” Mohan Babu shared.

Mohan Babu also reflected on Rajinikanth's unwavering affection for the Manchu family. This was evident when Rajinikanth watched Kannappa, a film starring Mohan Babu's son Vishnu Manchu. After the screening, Rajinikanth embraced Vishnu and praised the film, an emotional moment that Vishnu later shared on social media. "I’ve been waiting 22 years as an actor for that hug! Today, I feel encouraged, humbled, and grateful," Vishnu wrote, capturing the significance of Rajinikanth’s support. Mohan Babu’s gratitude towards Rajinikanth for his continued guidance and support was evident as he spoke about the deep emotional connection they share, both professionally and personally.

On the professional front, Mohan Babu was last seen in Kannappa, a mythological action drama that hit theatres on June 27. The film, which features Prabhas, Akshay Kumar, Kajal Aggarwal, and Mohanlal in key roles, received modest reviews, but its release sparked interest due to the star-studded cast and the mythological theme.

As both actors continue to shape their legacies in Indian cinema, their enduring friendship remains a testament to the deep bonds that form between artists over time. Whether in film or in personal life, Rajinikanth and Mohan Babu continue to inspire fans with their unwavering connection and mutual respect.
