Nagarjuna Slapped Bollywood Actress Isha Koppikar 14 Times for Perfect Scene

Bollywood actress Isha Koppikar, who starred opposite Nagarjuna in Chandralekha, recently opened up about an incident during the film's shoot that left fans stunned. In the film, Nagarjuna was supposed to slap Isha’s character, but the scene wasn't working as expected. Despite the actor’s normal attempts to slap her for the scene, Isha wasn’t reacting the way the filmmakers hoped. After trying to achieve the desired effect with no success, Isha took the bold step of asking Nagarjuna to slap her for real. Though initially hesitant, Nagarjuna eventually agreed to Isha’s request, and what followed was a surprising turn of events. He ended up slapping her 14 times to get the scene just right.

Isha shared that after the scene, her cheek bore the clear marks of Nagarjuna’s fingers, but the shot was finally deemed perfect. She explained how, although she struggled to show anger in front of the camera, she could easily convey it off-screen, making the situation all the more challenging for her.

In the same interview, Isha Koppikar also touched upon the growing dominance of South cinema in the Bollywood industry. She revealed that when she worked in South cinema, the audience was largely unaware of the films she was involved in. Today, however, South Indian films have become globally recognized, with many Bollywood films now remakes of their Southern counterparts. This shift highlights the changing dynamics of the film industry, where South Indian films are gaining more recognition on the global stage.
