Betting Apps Case: Rana Daggubati Questioned By ED Over Endorsement Payments

Actor Rana Daggubati appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Hyderabad on August 11 in connection with the ongoing investigation into the illegal betting apps case. The ED has been probing the scam for several months, suspecting large-scale money laundering linked to the promotion of these platforms by celebrities and influencers. Officials have been questioning multiple high-profile names from the entertainment industry to understand the financial trail and promotional agreements.

Rana was originally asked to attend questioning last month but had requested additional time citing personal reasons. He was issued a fresh summons for August 11 and complied, arriving at the ED’s Hyderabad office earlier today. Sources indicate that the interrogation is focused on his remuneration, commissions, and financial transactions related to endorsing a betting brand. Reports suggest that his questioning may continue until the evening.

In recent weeks, the ED has questioned several actors, including Prakash Raj, who was interrogated for six hours, and Vijay Devarakonda, who faced four hours of questioning. The investigation is expected to widen further, with actress Manchu Lakshmi scheduled to appear on August 13. In total, the ED has booked 29 individuals, including actors, influencers, and public figures, in relation to the case. The proceedings have sparked significant discussion within Tollywood, as the industry watches closely to see how the investigation unfolds.
