Coolie Box Office Day 4: Rajinikanth Film Nears Rs 200 Crore, Global Collection Hits Rs 400 Crore

Superstar Rajinikanth’s latest release Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, has stormed into the box office with massive numbers. The film, which released on August 14 ahead of Independence Day, opened to housefull shows across India and abroad. In its first four days, Coolie collected Rs 194.25 crore nett in India, putting it on the verge of crossing the Rs 200 crore milestone. At the global box office, the film has already touched the Rs 400 crore mark, making it one of the biggest openers in recent Tamil cinema history.

Despite its gigantic start, Coolie has been witnessing a steady decline in collections after Day 1. The film earned Rs 65 crore on its opening day, followed by Rs 54.75 crore on Day 2, Rs 39.5 crore on Day 3, and Rs 35 crore on Day 4. Though the numbers are sliding, it continues to bring in over Rs 30 crore daily, keeping trade analysts hopeful about its long-term run.

Coolie has received mixed reviews from both critics and audiences, but Rajinikanth’s star power, Lokesh Kanagaraj’s direction, and cameo appearances by Upendra, Aamir Khan, and Pooja Hegde have kept fans interested. The ensemble cast also includes Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, and Charlie, while the technical crew boasts composer Anirudh Ravichander, cinematographer Girish Gangadharan, and editor Philomin Raj.

Produced by Sun Pictures on a massive budget, Coolie is positioned as a full-fledged commercial entertainer. Trade analyst Ramesh Bala reported that the film’s global weekend collection is around Rs 410 crore, though an official confirmation is awaited. As the weekdays set in, all eyes are now on how Coolie sustains its momentum to potentially become another blockbuster in Rajinikanth’s illustrious career.
