Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna’s Film VD14 Starts Shooting Today

Vijay Deverakonda is gearing up for a major comeback as his much-awaited film with director Rahul Sankrityan officially begins shooting today in Hyderabad. This film, tentatively titled #VD14, marks an important project in Vijay’s career as he has been looking for a solid success after his last film Kingdom did not live up to expectations. Fans are eagerly waiting to see if this collaboration with Rahul, who directed the hit Taxiwaala in 2018, can bring them the much-needed success.

The film is being produced by Mythri Movie Makers and is set against the backdrop of British rule in India, between 1854 and 1878. Vijay Deverakonda will be seen in a never-before-seen rural character from Rayalaseema, which is expected to be a mix of strong emotions and high-octane action sequences. This period drama promises to offer a fresh experience for both Vijay and his fans.

Rashmika Mandanna has been finalized as the heroine, marking her third collaboration with Vijay after Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade. The film also boasts a strong technical crew, with internationally acclaimed cinematographer Éric Gautier, known for his work on The Motorcycle Diaries and Into the Wild, handling the visuals. The music for the film will be composed by the renowned Ajay-Atul, famous for their work on Sairat and Agneepath.

In addition to the stellar Indian cast, Hollywood actor Arnold Vosloo, known for playing the antagonist in The Mummy, is part of the cast, adding another layer of intrigue to the project. The first schedule of shooting will take place in Hyderabad, with the team planning to head to Rayalaseema for subsequent portions.

For both Vijay Deverakonda and director Rahul Sankrityan, #VD14 represents a significant opportunity to prove their mettle. With a powerful cast, an international crew, and a unique period backdrop, this film is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated Telugu films in the coming months. Fans and industry insiders alike are excited to see how the story unfolds and whether it will mark a successful return for Vijay Deverakonda to the big screen.
