Akhanda 2 Ticket Hike In AP Confirmed, Telangana Decision Likely Soon

Three days before its theatrical release, Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Akhanda 2 has received a major boost in Andhra Pradesh. The AP government approved increased ticket prices and also permitted paid premieres and benefit shows on December 4. These special shows will be held between 8 pm and 10 pm with a premium ticket rate of Rs. 600 including GST. From December 5, single-screen tickets in AP will carry a hike of Rs. 75, bringing the price to Rs. 222, while multiplex tickets get a Rs. 100 hike, making the price around Rs. 277. These revised rates will apply for the first ten days of release, giving the film a strong start at the box office.

With Andhra Pradesh already granting approval, attention now shifts to Telangana. The key question is whether the Telangana government will allow similar hikes for the film’s Nizam region release. Recently, Telangana CM Revanth Reddy stated that movie ticket price hikes will be permitted only if producers agree to share 20 percent of their profits with film workers. If the makers of Akhanda 2 accept these conditions, they may receive approval for increased ticket rates and paid premieres in Telangana as well. Since benefit shows are confirmed in AP, industry experts believe that holding them simultaneously in Telangana would prevent time gap issues. More clarity on the Telangana ticket hike decision is expected soon.
