Nandamuri Balakrishna’s upcoming action entertainer Akhanda 2: Thaandavam is once again grabbing attention after its recent release delay. The film, which was originally set to hit theatres on December 5, faced financial issues that stalled its release. With talks now progressing positively between financiers and the production team, the makers are reportedly aiming for a new release date of December 12. An official confirmation is expected soon, and fans are eagerly waiting for the announcement.

Financial hurdles surfaced after Eros secured an injunction from the Chennai High Court, which prevented the film from releasing until pending monetary matters were resolved. Several well-known industry personalities, including D Suresh Babu, Mythri Movie Makers, and Dil Raju, have stepped in to help settle the dispute. If all goes as planned, clarity on the release schedule will be announced early next week. Some distributors, however, suggest a December 24 release to capitalise on the Christmas holiday box-office window.

Akhanda 2: Thaandavam stars Balakrishna in one of his most celebrated roles, teaming up once again with director Boyapati Sreenu after the blockbuster Akhanda (2021). The sequel also features Samyuktha Menon and Aadhi Pinisetty in pivotal roles. Produced by Ram Achanta, Gopi Achanta and Ishan Saksena under 14 Reels Plus and IVY Entertainment, the movie is mounted on a grand scale and is expected to be a major seasonal release. With Balakrishna last seen in the Sankranthi hit Daaku Maharaj, expectations around Akhanda 2 continue to rise as fans await a final confirmation on the release date.
