INCA Unites 12 Indian Film Industries; Producers Guild Joins As Chief Patron And Partner
The Indian National Cine Academy, known as INCA, has been officially announced as a major new pan-India cinema platform. Designed to bring together 12 film industries under one national umbrella, INCA aims to create a unified institutional system that celebrates excellence and strengthens collaboration across regions. The initiative was introduced as a long-term national framework for Indian cinema, one that supports not only awards and recognition, but also knowledge exchange, policy dialogue and industry advancement.
Founded by Vishnu Vardhan Induri, the creator of SIIMA and the Celebrity Cricket League, INCA builds on a legacy of large-scale, credible entertainment platforms. His experience in establishing industry-driven initiatives forms the foundation for INCA’s mission to evolve into a national institution. Beyond serving as an award ceremony, the project will feature panel discussions, workshops, masterclasses and policy-focused conversations, underlining its broader vision to uplift and unify Indian cinema at a structural level.
The platform will welcome and represent 12 film industries: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Bhojpuri, Assamese and Odia. This approach seeks to encourage cross-industry learning, cultural exchange and shared identity across Indian filmmaking. INCA plans to operate as a transparent and democratic body, designed to deliver credibility, fairness and independent validation through industry-wide voting and external audit.
The Producers Guild of India has formally joined INCA as chief patron and institutional partner, offering key industry leadership and direction. The Guild will support national coordination with film bodies, help curate knowledge-driven sessions, and reinforce governance and transparency across processes. The collaboration reflects a shared goal of establishing stronger national pathways for growth and recognition. Speaking at the announcement, Guild President Shibasish Sarkar noted that INCA marks an important moment for Indian cinema as it continues to expand across languages and regions, highlighting the need for trusted institutions to guide future collaboration.
Founder Vishnu Vardhan Induri described INCA as an effort to build a collective national identity in Indian filmmaking, addressing the fragmented nature of the industry and encouraging a unified vision. He emphasised the growing global visibility of Indian cinema and the importance of platforms that promote excellence and cooperation across languages, cultures and markets.
The inaugural edition of INCA will be held as a two-day national event, bringing together artists, producers, filmmakers, technicians, OTT platforms, policymakers and global stakeholders. With its structured format, industry participation and national reach, INCA is positioned to become a landmark institution in the evolution of Indian cinema.
