Drishyam 3 Telugu Version Faces Uncertainty Amid Multilingual Release Plans

Drishyam 3 Telugu Version Faces Uncertainty Amid Multilingual Release Plans

The Drishyam franchise has firmly established itself as one of the most successful thriller series in Indian cinema. With gripping storytelling and unexpected twists, the first two parts earned both critical acclaim and massive box office success across multiple languages. The impact of the franchise extended beyond its original Malayalam version, with remakes in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and other languages receiving equal appreciation from audiences.

Now, anticipation is steadily building for the third installment, Drishyam 3. Director Jeetu Joseph has already completed the shooting of the Malayalam version in record time, once again bringing superstar Mohanlal back as the central character in the crime saga. Despite the completion of filming, the makers have not yet revealed an official release date, keeping fans eagerly waiting for further updates.

While the Malayalam version remains under wraps, the Hindi adaptation has taken a clear step forward. The Hindi Drishyam 3, starring Ajay Devgn, is officially slated to release on October 2 next year. This announcement has shifted focus to the status of the Telugu version, which currently remains uncertain with no confirmation on when production will begin or when it might hit the screens.

The delay in initiating the Telugu remake places the makers in a challenging position. Unlike other genres, the Drishyam series relies heavily on suspense and carefully constructed plot twists. A delayed Telugu release, following the Malayalam and Hindi versions, could expose crucial story elements through social media discussions and online spoilers. Such leaks may significantly reduce the impact of the narrative for Telugu audiences, who have already embraced the franchise in the past.

If the team fails to plan a simultaneous or near-simultaneous release across languages, they may be forced to rethink their approach. One possible option would be to introduce modified plot twists or narrative changes in the Telugu version to maintain suspense and curiosity. However, altering the core storyline of such a tightly woven thriller is a risky move and may not align with the franchise’s established appeal.

Actor Venkatesh, who played the lead role in the Telugu versions of Drishyam and Drishyam 2, is expected to reprise his role in the third part as well. Reports indicate that the makers are considering a Dasara 2026 release window for Drishyam 3. If this timeline holds true, Venkatesh may have to juggle multiple commitments, including a potential project with director Trivikram Srinivas, during the same period.

As of now, there is no official clarity regarding the Telugu version’s production schedule or release strategy. Until the makers make a formal announcement, the fate of Drishyam 3 in Telugu remains uncertain. With expectations running high and the risk of spoilers looming large, how the team navigates this tricky situation will play a crucial role in determining the film’s impact among Telugu moviegoers.
