Dhurandhar Crosses Rs 1,050 Crore Worldwide Becomes 7th Biggest Indian Film
Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar continues its extraordinary run at the global box office, rewriting records with remarkable consistency. In just 24 days, the high-octane action thriller has stormed past the Rs 1,050-crore mark worldwide, officially entering the elite league of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time. The film’s unstoppable momentum has now placed it as the seventh-biggest Indian film in box office history.
On its fourth Sunday, December 28, Dhurandhar crossed a staggering Rs 1,064 crore in worldwide collections, overtaking the lifetime earnings of major blockbusters such as Pathaan and Kalki 2898 AD. This milestone marks yet another achievement for the film, which has consistently delivered massive numbers since its release.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar has shown exceptional staying power at the box office. After posting historic figures in its second and third weeks, the film continued its dominance into the fourth weekend, collecting an impressive Rs 62 crore. Trade experts have described the performance as rare for a Hindi film, especially beyond the opening weeks.
At the domestic box office, Dhurandhar has amassed a net collection of Rs 690.25 crore, translating to a gross of approximately Rs 828.25 crore in India, according to industry tracking portal Sacnilk. With strong weekday holds and sustained footfalls, analysts expect the film to cross the Rs 700-crore net mark domestically in the coming days, a feat achieved by only a handful of Indian films.
Overseas markets have played a crucial role in pushing Dhurandhar into the Rs 1,000-crore club. The Christmas holiday window provided a significant boost, helping the film earn over $26 million internationally. On Sunday alone, Dhurandhar reportedly collected more than Rs 30 crore worldwide, pushing it past the final tallies of both Pathaan and Kalki 2898 AD. With these numbers, Dhurandhar now sets its sights on other modern box office giants such as Jawan, KGF Chapter 2, and RRR. However, the all-time top three earners Dangal, Baahubali 2, and Pushpa 2 remain firmly ahead for now.
Dhurandhar features Ranveer Singh in the role of Hamza, an Indian intelligence operative who infiltrates Karachi’s criminal underworld and terror networks. The film’s gripping narrative, large-scale action sequences, and strong performances have resonated with audiences worldwide. The ensemble cast includes Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, and R Madhavan in pivotal roles.
Notably, Dhurandhar has become only the second Hindi film this year, after the dubbed version of Pushpa 2, to achieve such massive domestic collections. Industry observers see this as a defining moment for Hindi cinema, reaffirming its ability to deliver global blockbusters at scale. With a sequel already announced, Dhurandhar: Part 2 is slated for a theatrical release in March 2026. Given the film’s current momentum and growing fanbase, expectations are high that the franchise will scale even greater heights in the years to come.
