Actor Priyanka Chopra has finally addressed the growing buzz around her return to Indian cinema, along with persistent rumours linking her to popular franchises Don and Krrish. After nearly six years away from Hindi and Telugu films, Priyanka is set to make her much-awaited comeback with Varanasi, directed by SS Rajamouli and co-starring Mahesh Babu. In a recent interview, the actor opened up about working across two film industries, her excitement about returning home, and how she views the speculation around revisiting her iconic roles.
Speaking candidly about transitioning between Hollywood and Indian film sets, Priyanka described her return to Indian cinema as emotionally fulfilling. She shared that working on Varanasi felt like the perfect way to reconnect with the industry that shaped her career. According to the actor, filmmaking cultures in Hollywood and India are vastly different, requiring a complete mental shift depending on where she is working. She explained that she consciously separates the two experiences, choosing to immerse herself fully in the working style of each industry rather than blending them. For Priyanka, adapting to different creative environments is less about comparison and more about respecting the uniqueness of each film set and the vision driving it.
The actor also expressed joy at revisiting aspects of Indian cinema she had missed over the years, particularly song-and-dance sequences. She revealed that dancing again for Varanasi was one of the most exciting parts of the project, something she had not experienced in her recent Hollywood films. This return, she said, marks a refreshing new chapter rather than a nostalgic step backward.
When asked directly about rumours suggesting her return to the Don and Krrish franchises, where she previously starred alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka chose to remain tight-lipped. She stated that she could not comment on either project at the moment, fueling further speculation among fans. Adding a playful twist to the conversation, Mahesh Babu jokingly remarked that her silence might indicate something is indeed happening, drawing laughter and renewed curiosity online.
Priyanka also spoke about her approach as a director-driven actor, emphasizing that every project requires surrendering to the filmmaker’s vision. Whether working with Indian directors or international filmmakers like Ilya Naishuller, she believes originality and openness are key to delivering meaningful performances. While Varanasi is slated for release in 2027, Priyanka will next be seen in her Hollywood project The Bluff, scheduled for digital release on February 25, 2026. With speculation swirling and anticipation rising, her return to Indian cinema has clearly become one of the most talked-about moments in recent film news.
