Sumanth’s upcoming film Mahendragiri Varahi has caught attention with its teaser, which introduces a mystery-driven world built around faith, folklore and hidden secrets. Known for choosing unusual subjects, Sumanth appears to be stepping into a different space again after receiving appreciation for Anaganaga. Directed by Santhossh Jagarlapudi, the film seems to blend mythology with thriller elements in a way that could give it a distinct identity among Telugu releases.
The teaser does not reveal too much about the story, but it succeeds in creating curiosity. The narrative appears to revolve around the sacred Varahi Matha temple and a mystery connected to a village where old beliefs still seem to carry power. Instead of following a regular thriller format, the teaser focuses on atmosphere, symbolism and the idea that secrets from the past may shape the present. This approach helps the film stand apart from routine suspense dramas.
Sumanth’s character appears to be central to the conflict, possibly carrying the responsibility of uncovering truths buried across generations. The sacred village backdrop, temple visuals and mythological references give the teaser a strong visual identity. The makers seem to be aiming for a story where devotion, fear and mystery come together, creating a larger-than-usual canvas for the genre.
The technical presentation is one of the teaser’s biggest strengths. The visuals, production design and background mood help build an immersive setting. The scale looks carefully designed, and the film appears to have strong backing from producers Kalipu Madhu and Laxman. Every frame suggests that the team has focused on creating a cinematic experience rather than a simple mystery drama.
Mahendragiri Varahi leaves viewers with more questions than answers, and that works in its favour. If the film can match the teaser’s atmosphere with a gripping screenplay, strong emotional stakes and convincing mythology, it has the potential to attract both thriller lovers and audiences interested in rooted, faith-based stories.
