Maa Inti Bangaaram Beats Arundhati To Set Telugu Box Office Record
Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s Maa Inti Bangaaram has created a major box office milestone by overtaking the lifetime worldwide collection of Anushka Shetty’s Arundhati. The action-family thriller reached a worldwide gross of Rs 78.71 crore by the end of Day 10, making it Telugu cinema’s biggest woman-led hit. Arundhati, released in 2009, had long held the record among Telugu woman-led films with a reported worldwide gross of Rs 70 crore. Maa Inti Bangaaram crossing that mark in just 10 days has strengthened Samantha’s position as one of the most bankable female stars in South Indian cinema.
According to trade website Sacnilk, Maa Inti Bangaaram collected Rs 5.30 crore nett in India on its tenth day. The number marked an 8.2 percent rise from its Day 9 India nett collection of Rs 4.90 crore. The film’s total India nett now stands at Rs 48.25 crore, while its India gross has reached Rs 55.86 crore. Overseas markets have also contributed strongly, with the film adding Rs 1 crore on Day 10 and taking its international gross to Rs 22.85 crore. With this pace, the Samantha-starrer is now moving closer to the Rs 100 crore worldwide mark.
Strong Sunday Collections Push Samantha Film Higher
The film’s Day 10 performance was powered mainly by the Telugu version, which contributed Rs 5.05 crore nett in India. The Tamil version added Rs 25 lakh. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana remained the film’s strongest territories, bringing in Rs 4.50 crore gross on Sunday. Karnataka followed with Rs 1.10 crore, while Tamil Nadu contributed Rs 41 lakh. Kerala added Rs 1 lakh and the rest of India brought in Rs 12 lakh. Together, these markets helped Maa Inti Bangaaram record a Day 10 India gross of Rs 6.14 crore.
The Telugu version recorded an overall occupancy of 46.94 percent on Sunday. Afternoon and evening shows drew the best response, with occupancies of 56.23 percent and 58.46 percent, respectively. Morning shows stood at 27.31 percent, while night shows closed at 33.62 percent. The Tamil version also showed steady turnout with an overall occupancy of 40.21 percent. Its afternoon shows were the strongest at 51 percent, while morning, evening and night shows recorded 25.14 percent, 22.86 percent and 36 percent occupancy, respectively.
Maa Inti Bangaaram Nears Rs 100 Crore Worldwide
Made on a reported budget of Rs 20 crore, Maa Inti Bangaaram has already earned nearly four times its production cost worldwide. The film’s commercial performance is significant because woman-led Telugu films rarely sustain this level of theatrical momentum beyond the opening weekend. Its success also places it ahead of Arundhati, a film that remained the benchmark for female-led box office power in Telugu cinema for more than 15 years.
Directed by BV Nandini Reddy, with story by Raj Nidimoru, Maa Inti Bangaaram features Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead role alongside Sreemukhi, Manjusha Mukkavilli and others. The film’s mix of action, family emotion and star-driven appeal has helped it hold strongly across Telugu-speaking markets and overseas centers. With Rs 78.71 crore worldwide already collected, all eyes are now on whether Maa Inti Bangaaram can continue its run and enter the Rs 100 crore club in the coming days.
