The trailer of Ikka, starring Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna, was released on Sunday, June 29, 2026, giving viewers a first look at Netflix’s upcoming courtroom drama. Directed by Siddharth P Malhotra, the film brings together a high-profile legal case, family tension and a moral conflict that draws parallels with the Ram-Raavan battle for justice.
Sunny Deol Plays Lawyer Arjun Mehra
The trailer introduces Sunny Deol as Arjun Mehra, a principled lawyer who believes that the law must be used to protect rights rather than simply win cases. His beliefs are tested when he is asked to defend Shauryamann Gaur, played by Akshaye Khanna, in an attempted murder case.
What begins as a courtroom battle soon becomes a personal and emotional test for Arjun. The case forces him to question his own values, his relationships and the idea of justice he has followed for years. The trailer suggests that Ikka will not be limited to legal arguments, but will also explore the cost of standing by one’s convictions when the truth is not easy to define.
Akshaye Khanna Brings Ram-Raavan Conflict
Akshaye Khanna’s character Shauryamann Gaur appears to be central to the film’s moral conflict. The trailer hints at a sharp clash between perception and truth, with Shauryamann comparing his situation to the Ram-Raavan divide. His character questions why one man is seen as righteous while another is treated as evil, even when the full truth may not be visible.
The film also stars Tillotama Shome as Madhura Banerjee, a public prosecutor whose pursuit of justice puts her directly against Arjun in court. Dia Mirza plays Avantika, Arjun’s wife, who is shown trying to protect her family as the case begins to affect their personal lives. Together, these characters add emotional weight to the courtroom drama.
Ikka Netflix Release Date
Ikka will premiere on Netflix on Friday, July 10, 2026. The film marks Sunny Deol’s first direct-to-streaming release, making it a notable addition to Netflix India’s upcoming slate.
With its mix of courtroom tension, emotional conflict and mythological symbolism, Ikka appears to be aiming for more than a routine legal drama. The trailer suggests a story built around justice, morality, family and the difficult choices people make when truth and loyalty collide.
