Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana: Part 1 will arrive in theatres worldwide on November 6, 2026, two days before Diwali. The makers also released an English trailer featuring synchronised English dialogue for Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash and other characters.
Ramayana Part 1 Release Date Officially Announced
The makers of Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious mythological epic Ramayana have confirmed that the first instalment will release in theatres worldwide on Friday, November 6, 2026, two days before Diwali.
Sony Pictures announced the release date while sharing a new English-language trailer aimed at international audiences. The announcement ends months of speculation surrounding the exact theatrical date, as the film had previously been promoted only as a Diwali 2026 release.
Producer Namit Malhotra has developed Ramayana as a two-part cinematic saga. Ramayana: Part 2 is planned for the Diwali 2027 period, although its precise release date has not yet been announced.
Ramayana English Trailer Targets Global Audiences
The English trailer presents the principal characters speaking English dialogue rather than simply using the original footage with conventional voice-over dubbing. Reports suggest that the actors may have recorded their own English lines, while advanced visual localisation appears to synchronise their lip movements with the new dialogue.
Social media users have speculated that Brahma AI technology may have been used for the localisation. However, the filmmakers have not officially confirmed which technology created the effect. Malhotra had previously discussed plans to use advanced tools to adapt the film naturally for audiences across different languages.
The English trailer runs for approximately three minutes and 54 seconds and includes some visuals not seen in the earlier Indian-language version. It is part of the makers’ strategy to position Ramayana as a global theatrical event rather than only a domestic mythological production.
Ranbir Kapoor And Yash Lead Epic Battle
The trailer begins with Yash’s Ravana declaring his supremacy over the three worlds and spreading destruction. Lord Vishnu then takes human form as Rama, played by Ranbir Kapoor, to restore balance and defend dharma.
Sai Pallavi plays Sita, while Ravie Dubey appears as Lakshman. The footage follows Rama’s marriage, his 14-year exile and Sita and Lakshman’s decision to accompany him into the forest. Ravana’s abduction of Sita then sets up the central confrontation between Rama and the ruler of Lanka.
Rakul Preet Singh also appears as Surpanakha, whose encounter with Rama and Lakshman becomes a major turning point in the story. The trailer combines palace sequences, forest landscapes, divine imagery and large-scale battle visuals.
Ramayana Begins Its Diwali Box Office Campaign
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, Ramayana is being promoted as one of Indian cinema’s biggest global productions. The film brings together Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana in a two-film retelling of the revered epic.
The November 6 release gives the first chapter access to the extended Diwali holiday period and allows the film to build momentum before the festival. Its English trailer also signals an aggressive international distribution campaign designed to take the Indian story to audiences beyond its traditional markets. With its confirmed date, multilingual rollout and global trailer campaign, Ramayana has officially entered the final phase of its theatrical promotion ahead of its worldwide release.
