Vikram’s Power House Promo Reveals His Dark Double Life

Chiyaan Vikram’s upcoming film Chiyaan 63 has officially been titled Power House. The makers unveiled an engaging title-announcement promo on Monday, September 14, coinciding with Ganesh Chaturthi.

Directed by Anand Shankar, the film marks his reunion with Vikram after their 2016 action thriller Iru Mugan. The new promo suggests that Power House will combine domestic comedy, wedding preparations and family relationships with a darker, more violent storyline.

Vikram appears as a confident wedding caretaker who runs a team responsible for organising family functions. His character seems warm, dependable and humorous in public, but the promo gradually reveals that he is hiding a dangerous side.

Power House Promo Begins With Wedding Preparations

The promo opens with a rear view of Vikram carrying a bunch of plantain leaves into a traditional house. Mekha Rajan, Subash Selvam and Samyuktha Hegde are introduced as members of his team who report back after completing the duties assigned to them. Their conversations indicate that Vikram’s character manages wedding arrangements and takes pride in providing a “100% guarantee” for every function he handles. The setting creates the atmosphere of a light-hearted family entertainer centred on celebrations, food and household confusion.

Riya Shibu, known for Sarvam Maya, appears as Vikram’s niece. Her character is presented as a young woman frequently lost in her imagination, adding another humorous element to the household. Urvashi and VTV Ganesh are featured in a lively kitchen sequence. Their playful exchange while preparing food strengthens the impression that Power House will use situational comedy and family interactions as an important part of its narrative.

Vikram’s Character Hides a Violent Secret

The cheerful mood changes abruptly when Vikram enters a storeroom to collect supplies. The promo then exposes a disturbing secret hidden behind his ordinary public appearance. Two badly injured men are shown inside the room as Vikram calmly cleans the floor. The sequence suggests that his friendly wedding-caretaker image may be a cover for a ruthless alter ego.

The makers describe this transformation as the character’s “Anniyan” side, drawing attention to Vikram’s ability to shift between contrasting personalities. However, the promo does not reveal why the men were attacked or what drives his character’s violent actions. This contrast between a cheerful family environment and a secret world of violence forms the central hook of the announcement. It also raises questions about whether Vikram’s character is a vigilante, a criminal or a protector hiding his methods from his family.

Power House Cast and Technical Team

Power House features Riya Shibu, Urvashi, VTV Ganesh, Shammi Thilakan, Mekha Rajan, Subash Selvam and Samyuktha Hegde in important roles alongside Vikram. Santhosh Narayanan is composing the music, while RD Rajasekar is handling cinematography. Gopi Prasanna is associated with the project as production designer, and Poornima Ramaswamy is serving as costume designer and stylist.

Sendhil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan are producing the film under the Sathya Jyothi Films banner. The project brings Vikram and Anand Shankar together a decade after Iru Mugan, which featured Nayanthara and Nithya Menen and performed strongly at the worldwide box office despite receiving mixed reviews.

Riya Shibu had earlier produced Vikram’s Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2, released in March 2025. In Power House, she takes on an acting role as part of the central family. The makers have not yet announced the film’s theatrical release date. With its unusual combination of wedding comedy, emotional family drama and brutal action, the title promo has positioned Power House as an intriguing addition to Vikram’s diverse filmography.
