Yami Gautam’s seemingly perfect bride brings an unsettling mystery into a Meerut household in the trailer of Nayyi Navelli. Playing Mohini, the actor enters the Awasthi family with charm and warmth, only for the familiar bustle of wedding celebrations to give way to supernatural suspicions.
The trailer blends household comedy with dark fantasy, introducing references to witches, demons and a mysterious force described as Raavan Raj. The film is scheduled to release in cinemas on October 16, 2026, ahead of Dussehra.
Nayyi Navelli Trailer Turns Wedding Chaos Into Supernatural Mystery
Mohini initially appears to be the ideal daughter-in-law, quickly winning over members of her new family. Yet her arrival also triggers questions, and the trailer gradually shifts from everyday disagreements to suggestions that something more sinister is unfolding.
The contrast between domestic familiarity and supernatural danger drives the trailer’s appeal. Wedding rituals, curious relatives and family tensions provide moments of humour, while the growing uncertainty around Mohini adds suspense. A voiceover referring to a demon’s pursuit of power during the Treta Yuga introduces a mythological dimension. It hints at a larger fantasy conflict connected to Raavan Raj, although the trailer leaves its exact meaning unexplained.
Crucially, Mohini’s true nature remains unresolved. The promotional material encourages viewers to suspect her without revealing whether she is the danger facing the family or part of a more complicated story. The trailer also expands on the earlier teaser, which paired an accusation of witchcraft with Mohini’s exaggerated, darkly comic response. The new footage takes that premise beyond a household dispute and suggests a wider supernatural world.
Nayyi Navelli Cast, Creative Team and Release Date
Balaji Mohan directs Nayyi Navelli, with Himanshu Sharma and Divy Nidhi Sharma credited as writers. Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma produce the film under Colour Yellow. The report identifies the project as Colour Yellow’s first collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios. GV Prakash Kumar has composed the music, adding another notable name to the film’s creative team.
For Yami Gautam, Mohini offers a role built around ambiguity. Her character must appear convincing as a welcoming new bride while sustaining the uncertainty that shapes the trailer’s fantasy and mystery elements. The makers have positioned Nayyi Navelli for the festive cinema season, with an October 16 theatrical release. Its combination of family humour, folklore and supernatural suspense gives audiences several strands to follow, while the central question remains unanswered: what is Mohini hiding?
