Vijay Deverakonda has addressed negative social media posts surrounding his upcoming film Ranabaali, saying he believes some of the content reflects selective targeting rather than independent audience opinions. The actor maintained that criticism would not persuade him to change his personality or abandon his ambitions.
His comments come ahead of the film’s announced October 16 release. Directed by Rahul Sankrityan and featuring Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead, Ranabaali is produced by Mythri Movie Makers.
Vijay Questions Similar Social Media Reels
According to the supplied report, Vijay pointed to reels criticising Ranabaali while encouraging viewers to watch Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2. He argued that the similarity of the messaging made the posts appear different from ordinary, varied opinions.
The actor suggested that the content was being deliberately pushed towards audiences. However, the report does not provide independent evidence establishing a coordinated campaign or identify anyone responsible. His remarks therefore remain an allegation about the pattern he says he observed.
The discussion has added another dimension to the promotional conversation around Ranabaali, with attention shifting from the film itself to how it is being discussed online.
Actor Says Criticism Will Not Change His Approach
Vijay also reflected on his career journey and the way his public statements are interpreted. He said that others viewing his honesty as arrogance, or his confidence as attitude, would not be a reason to step back.
His response focused on continuing to work and grow despite criticism. He maintained that dismissive opinions about his efforts should not determine the direction of his career.
The actor also spoke positively about other people achieving success, saying he enjoys seeing successful journeys and believes they can improve the lives of those around them. His remarks presented ambition and self-belief as qualities he intends to retain.
Producer Ravi Shankar Supports Vijay
Mythri Movie Makers producer Y. Ravi Shankar backed Vijay during the interaction. According to the report, he described the actor as straightforward and questioned why negative posts were appearing around the project.
Ravi Shankar said he had encountered criticism even before the trailer was released. His comments expressed concern about early judgements being made without audiences having seen the promotional material.
The producer also voiced confidence in Ranabaali’s commercial prospects. That assessment reflects the production team’s expectations; the film’s eventual reception and box-office performance will depend on audiences after release.
Ranabaali Scheduled for October 16
According to the supplied announcement, Ranabaali is scheduled to reach theatres on October 16, 2026. The film reunites Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna under Rahul Sankrityan’s direction.
As promotions continue, Vijay’s response has brought attention to the pressure of online scrutiny surrounding major releases. For now, the actor has made his position clear: he intends to remain focused on his work while allowing audiences to assess the film when it reaches cinemas.
