Ramayana: Rise of a Legend opened with an estimated Rs 64.85 crore nett in India on November 5, according to early figures from Sacnilk. The Nitesh Tiwari-directed epic played across 25,200 shows nationwide and earned Rs 77.50 crore in India gross. The Hindi version accounted for nearly three-quarters of the domestic nett total.

Kannada was the film’s second-largest language market by opening-day nett collections, followed by Telugu. With India gross at Rs 77.50 crore, Ramayana would need more than Rs 22.50 crore overseas to cross Rs 100 crore worldwide on Day 1.

Adipurush earned Rs 86.75 crore nett in India across languages on its first day in 2023, putting the Prabhas-starrer Rs 21.90 crore ahead of Ramayana on the same measure. Telugu led the opening for Adipurush, while Hindi was the biggest contributor for Ramayana.
Ramayana placed second among the 2026 Bollywood openers listed by based on India nett collections across languages. Dhurandhar: The Revenge led that list with Rs 102.55 crore, while Drishyam 3: The Conclusion followed Ramayana at Rs 62 crore.
Ramayana Box Office Day 1 And Diwali Weekend
The extended Diwali weekend gives Ramayana several days to build on its Thursday opening. Sunday evening shows could see softer turnout as families gather for Lakshmi Puja. Monday’s collections will help show whether holiday audiences shifted their cinema visits and whether early word of mouth brought in more viewers.
The film is the first instalment of a two-part adaptation and stars Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. Sunny Deol, Ravie Dubey and Arun Govil also feature, with music by A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer. The second instalment is expected during Diwali 2028.
