Daayra is a Hindi crime thriller directed by Meghna Gulzar and headlined by Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran. The film follows DCP Ajooni Kohli and DCP Raman Kumar, two senior police officers confronting a disturbing crime and its complicated aftermath. As the investigation progresses, conflicting ideas about punishment, justice and accountability place the characters on opposing sides of a morally complex case. Inspired by themes drawn from several real-world cases rather than one specific incident, the narrative examines the limits of the legal system and the difference between lawful justice and society’s demand for immediate punishment. Jitendra Joshi, Kshitee Jog and Biswapati Sarkar appear in supporting roles. The film is jointly backed by Junglee Pictures and Pen Studios.
