Venkat Balasubramanyam, US citizen, has been missing since the flash floods that struck the Nepal–Tibet border on the morning of Wednesday, 26 August 2026.
He was on his way to the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra and was last heard from at approximately 8:20 AM, while walking toward the Rasuwagadhi immigration office near Syabrubesi / Timure. There has been no contact since.
He was travelling with a group of pilgrims — nine others from the same group are also unaccounted for.
