The Asus RT-AX5400 router normally goes for between $150 and $200. MicroCenter (in-store only) has it that buying two of them as a "mesh bundle" is approximately $200.
(it should be $200 - price appears to depend on location, hence the your mileage may vary disclaimer).
I personally don't have a large house and don't need the mesh. So I'm getting one for me, and one for my parents. The router is a good router for today, has a USB Port, Wifi6, and with the Asus software, VPN and controls don't need a subscription (Asus Instant Guard[asus.com])
This was snagged, by me, last night for $200. The sale is supposed to be good until January 5th.
Listed price is based on current offerings. The router itself routinely runs $130 - $175, so two of them at $284 is probably the average price for retrospectives)
