Tansen is known as the 'Sangeet Samrat' - meaning 'the Monarch of Indian Music' who holds the most distinguished position in the arena of Indian cultural tradition. He was the foremost musician of the Royal Court of Akbar. Known to have created many ragas, which now hold prominent position in Hindustani music, Tansen left a treasure-house of music for the world. This album features seven tracks in the voice of Ustad Rashid Khan, Meeta Pandit, Nirmalya Dey and the legendary Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty.
