RK Sagar’s The 100 Movie Interview: Comeback with a Powerful Family Drama Releasing on July 11

RK Sagar’s The 100 Movie Interview: Comeback with a Powerful Family Drama Releasing on July 11

Why did you choose the title "The 100"?
Initially, we started the project like any other film. But when the title “The 100” came up, it brought emotion and meaning. It reflects our urge to do good for society. After watching the film, the audience will understand why it had to be titled The 100.

What is the central theme of the movie?
Just like each era had a divine weapon to fight evil Ramabanam in Treta Yuga, Sudarshan Chakra in Dwapara Yuga The 100 is the weapon in Kaliyuga. It’s an emotional, touching, and powerful family drama with a strong message.

Minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy got emotional during the pre-release event. How did that feel?
I’m very thankful to him. Though he came as a guest, after watching the footage, he truly felt moved and blessed us wholeheartedly. He promised to watch the full film on day one, and I believe he’ll speak more about it afterward.

Why was it important to involve famous personalities like Venkaiah Naidu and Pawan Kalyan?
Because of the film's content. It’s not just a regular entertainer. It has a strong message that needs to reach people. That’s why we approached someone like Pawan Kalyan, who was impressed and even launched our trailer.

Tell us about your role in the movie.
I’ve played many police roles, but this one is special. Every police officer will feel proud watching this character. It’s authentic and layered.

Why didn’t you reprise a character like RK Naidu from Mogalirekulu again?
I spent nearly six years as RK Naidu. So when I entered films, I intentionally chose different roles like Man of the Match, Siddharth, and Saadi Mubarak. But fans wanted another police character, so I waited for the right script. The 100 gave me that opportunity.

How was the story of The 100 born?
It was an idea shared by a real-life police officer. I carried the thought in my mind for four years. I shared it with director Sukumar during lunch once, and he was very excited. Later, I decided to complete and direct it myself after developing it fully.

Did you miss out on any major projects recently?
Yes, I got an offer in OG but due to some miscommunication, it didn’t work out. But since I’m already part of that team, I don’t feel like I missed anything.

What about the female leads Misha, Dhanya, and Vishnu Priya?
Misha’s character especially has great depth. Her scenes are emotional. All three female characters play crucial roles in the story.

How did Harshavardhan Rameshwar’s music support the film?
His music elevated the emotional moments beautifully. From the start, he took it up as a challenge and delivered outstanding work.

Do you have any dream roles?
Yes. I’ve always admired the film Nayakudu. I’ve watched it many times. I hope to play a character like that one day.

What can we expect from your upcoming projects?
I focus on quality over quantity. Viewers have treated me like a member of their family, and I owe them meaningful content. My next project won’t take long to arrive, and there might even be a sequel to The 100.

In HIT 3, you’re seen playing a 45-year-old character. How did you come to terms with taking up a role older than your actual age? Nani: Honestly, I think it’s refreshing.
