The extravagant affair, held to commemorate Anant Ambani’s forthcoming nuptials with Radhika Merchant later in the year, saw Mukesh Ambani, whose fortune places him as the ninth richest globally with a net worth of $117.8 billion, hosting an opulent gathering. As the chairman of Reliance Industries, an expansive conglomerate spanning various sectors like oil, gas, and telecommunications, Mukesh Ambani's influence and affluence were on full display.
Commencing on Friday, the festivities commenced with a mesmerizing performance by renowned pop sensation Rihanna, captivating the attendees, among whom were Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates.
Zuckerberg's presence could be linked to Facebook's substantial investment of $5.7 billion in Jio Platforms Limited, a venture under Reliance Industries, in 2020. Furthermore, Meta's collaboration with JioMart, a grocery app owned by Reliance Industries, integrated into WhatsApp, further underscores the connection between the tech mogul and Mukesh Ambani's ventures.
Similarly, Microsoft and various other ventures under Reliance Industries have established collaborative efforts, cementing Gates' involvement in the celebration.
The lavish affair unfolded in Jamnagar, Gujarat, a city in India, with an illustrious guest list featuring luminaries from Bollywood such as Shah Rukh Khan. Noteworthy attendees reportedly included Ivanka Trump, daughter of former U.S. President Donald Trump, adding to the aura of grandeur.
According to Reuters, citing a planning document, guests were treated to a culinary extravaganza, with approximately 100 chefs crafting an array of 500 delectable dishes, further enhancing the splendor of the event.
