Taylor Swift has added another significant achievement to her list with the much-discussed Eras Tour. According to The Hollywood Reporter, she has become the first solo artist to perform the most times at London’s iconic Wembley Stadium during a single tour. "You just made me the first solo artist to ever play Wembley eight times in a single tour," Swift announced to her fans at the Tuesday show, as reported by BBC. "We will never, ever be able to thank you enough for it." With this feat, Taylor Swift surpassed the record previously held by Michael Jackson, who performed at Wembley seven times during his 1988 Bad Tour.
The pop group Take That also played eight shows at the stadium during their 2011 Progress Tour.
Wembley Stadium has hosted more of Taylor Swift’s performances than any other venue on her current tour. "I've always loved playing for you here in London, but this is the best," she shared with the audience on Tuesday. "I've never experienced anything like this before. I've never had a crowd that's so generous. You seem to have memorized every single lyric of every single song, and that's a dream come true," the singer added.
On Wednesday, Taylor Swift also spoke out about the cancellation of three Vienna concerts due to an alleged suicide attack plot, expressing that the incident left her feeling "fearful" and "guilty." In a post on Instagram, she said, "Having our Vienna shows canceled was devastating. The reason behind the cancellations brought a new level of fear and a tremendous amount of guilt because so many had planned to attend those shows." The Vienna concerts, part of the European leg of Swift's record-breaking Eras Tour, were canceled after authorities warned of a potential terror plot involving sympathizers of the Islamic State group.
Police have detained three suspects in connection with the alleged attack threat, with the U.S. government confirming that it shared intelligence to aid in the investigation.
