Bollywood's Horror Wave: Rashmika Mandanna Joins the Fray with Vampired of Vijayanagara

This year, horror films have proven to be a significant trend in Bollywood, with several notable successes. Ajay Devgn’s Shaitaan and the unexpected hit Munjya have set high standards, and now Stree 2 is making headlines with its impressive box office performance, approaching the 500-crore mark. Riding this wave of success, Rashmika Mandanna is set to dive into the horror genre with her upcoming film, Vampired of Vijayanagara.

Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, known for his work on Munjya, Vampired of Vijayanagara is a horror-comedy that will explore two distinct timelines: one in the historic Hampi City of the Vijayanagara Empire and another in a small North Indian village. The film is anticipated to be produced on a large scale, featuring Rashmika in a multi-faceted role alongside lead actor Ayushmann Khurrana. Regular shooting for the film is slated to begin in October.

In addition to Vampired of Vijayanagara, Rashmika Mandanna is busy with several other high-profile projects. She is working on Pushpa 2 with Allu Arjun, Chhaava with Vicky Kaushal, Sikandar with Salman Khan, Kubera with Dhanush, and also stars in the female-centric films The Girlfriend and Rainbow. With such a diverse slate of films, Rashmika’s career continues to expand, reflecting her growing prominence in Indian cinema.
