However, Nani himself dismisses such classifications, preferring not to be confined to any single category.
At a press conference for Saripodha Sanivaram, Nani expressed his desire to avoid being labeled within industry tiers. He stated, “I don’t know who created it but please keep me away from such categories.” This sentiment reflects his wish to remain versatile and choose roles based on his interests rather than conforming to industry-defined tiers.
Director Vivek Athreya echoed Nani’s perspective, highlighting the actor’s unique ability to connect with different audience segments through his diverse filmography. Athreya argued that Nani’s broad appeal and the varied fan base for each of his films make it unnecessary to categorize him. Instead, allowing Nani the freedom to pursue various roles will benefit both him and the industry as a whole.
