Shah Rukh Khan Tops List of Highest Tax-Paying Celebrities in India

In 2023-24, Shah Rukh Khan topped the list of highest tax-paying celebrities in India, paying a remarkable Rs 92 crore. His success in the year was fueled by the massive box office earnings from his three releases, including Pathaan (which grossed over Rs 1000 crore), Jawan (earning Rs 1150 crore), and Dunki (which grossed over Rs 400 crore despite being a modest hit). This tax figure solidified his position as the highest-paid actor in India after nearly a decade.

Behind Shah Rukh Khan, Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay claimed the second spot, paying Rs 80 crore, followed by Salman Khan with Rs 75 crore. Amitabh Bachchan paid Rs 71 crore, and cricketer Virat Kohli paid Rs 66 crore.

Among female celebrities, Kareena Kapoor topped the list with Rs 20 crore in tax, just outside the top 10.

The rankings reveal the significant earnings and impact of these celebrities on both the entertainment industry and the nation's economy.
