Renowned Telugu actor Nandamuri Balakrishna has been awarded the Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian honor, for his exceptional contributions to the field of art. The Government of India announced the 2025 Padma Awards list today, ahead of Republic Day, recognizing the individuals who have significantly impacted their respective fields.

This prestigious recognition places Balakrishna among the select few in Tollywood who have received the Padma Bhushan, following in the footsteps of other luminaries like Chiranjeevi, Krishna, and Mohan Babu. The award highlights Balakrishna's lasting influence on the Indian film industry, particularly in Telugu cinema, where his remarkable acting career spans decades.

In addition to Balakrishna, Dr. Duvvuri Nageshwar Reddy, a celebrated medical professional from Telangana, was also awarded the Padma Bhushan for his groundbreaking work in medicine and healthcare. A total of 139 Padma Awards were announced this year, including 113 Padma Shri, 19 Padma Bhushan, and seven Padma Vibhushan awards, celebrating achievements across various sectors.

The Padma Bhushan award serves as a testament to Nandamuri Balakrishna’s immense contribution to Indian cinema, making it a moment of pride for his fans and the Telugu film industry.
