Popular Punjabi actress Sonam Bajwa has officially joined Harshvardhan Rane in their upcoming Bollywood film Deewaniyat, a passionate romantic drama directed by Milap Milan Zaveri. Known for films like Satyameva Jayate and Marjaavaan, Zaveri’s latest venture promises to deliver an emotional rollercoaster of love, obsession, and heartbreak.The announcement came on March 12, with the makers unveiling a motion poster that teases the film's intense narrative. The striking visual depicts a blood-soaked hand holding a rose, while a woman lights it with a flaming lighter — symbolizing destruction and emotional turmoil. The background voiceover reveals the emotional intensity of the film, featuring a woman’s voice saying.
"Tera pyaar pyaar nahi, teri zid hai. Jise tu paar kar raha hai vo har had ki had hai. Jal jaoongi, mit jaoongi, par khati hoon main kasam. Tere ishq mein jhul jaaoon main nahi who sanam. Tere liye mere dil mein mohabbat nahi, nafrat hai. Tujhe tabah jo kar degi, who meri Deewaniyat hai." This powerful monologue hints at a tale of passion, obsession, and emotional conflict, setting the tone for a gripping narrative. Sharing the motion poster on Instagram, both Sonam Bajwa and Harshvardhan Rane expressed their excitement. Sonam wrote, "So thrilled to bring the fire of love to Deewaniyat! An intense saga of passion & heartbreak, starring alongside the amazing @harshvardhanrane (sic)."
Deewaniyat is written by Mushtaq Shaikh and Milap Zaveri, who have worked on popular films like Ek Villain, Heyy Babyy, Housefull, and Main Tera Hero. The film's narrative heavily relies on music to convey emotions, suggesting a soulful soundtrack that will complement the film's intense theme.
For Sonam Bajwa, Deewaniyat marks her latest Bollywood project following her appearances in Housefull 5 with Akshay Kumar and Baaghi 4 alongside Tiger Shroff. Meanwhile, this is Harshvardhan Rane’s much-awaited return to the screen after the recent successful re-release of his romantic hit Sanam Teri Kasam.
