Suriya’s highly anticipated action drama Karuppu, directed by RJ Balaji, has officially cleared the censor process and received a U/A certificate ahead of its worldwide theatrical release on May 14. This marks a major milestone for the film, which has been building anticipation since its teaser and promotional videos were released online.
The film marks a significant reunion for Suriya and Trisha after many years, adding an extra layer of excitement among fans. Sharing the news on social media, the film's makers confirmed the U/A certification and teased fans with the message: "#Karuppu censored with a UA, blasting the screens worldwide from MAY 14TH."
The story of Karuppu follows Suriya as Saravanan, an advocate who turns to divine justice after legal methods fail him. The film incorporates elements of spirituality, with the village deity Karuppasamy playing a key role in the narrative, adding both emotional and action-driven dimensions to the plot.
In addition to Suriya and Trisha, the film stars Yogi Babu, Indrans, Swasika, Sshivada, Natty Subramaniam, Supreeth Reddy, and Anagha Maya Ravi in pivotal roles. The music is composed by Sai Abhyankkar, with cinematography by GK Vishnu, editing by Kalaivanan, and stunt choreography by Vikram Mor.
Following Karuppu, Suriya’s busy schedule continues with Vishwanath and Sons, directed by Venky Atluri, co-starring Mamitha Baiju. He also has another project lined up with director Jithu Madhavan, which will feature Nazriya Nazim and Naslen K. Gafoor in important roles. Karuppu has completed all necessary formalities and is scheduled for its May 14 release, with expectations running high for this blend of action, drama, and spirituality.
